Inspiration Expires… Don’t Wait

For starters, my name is Charlie Thompson. Today is an exciting day because today… the day I am writing this post… is the day I have decided to launch Unity Creative Co. I am so excited to be sharing this journey with you. For the past couple months I have been in an interesting season. To sum it up, it’s been a season of exploring, learning, and dreaming. I have realized that I will never be fully prepared to launch this dream, but if I don’t do it today, when will that day be?

One solid take away that I have learned these past few months is that “INSPIRATION EXPIRES.”

… and I read this about 10min ago from writing this post.

In other words, you’ll never be more motived to do something than the moment you were first inspired to do it!

This specific quote comes from a highly suggested book, Rework. However, this is the demeaner that drives a well known entrepreneur by the name of Gary Vaynerchuk of Vayner Media. Gary Vee doesn’t believe in excuses and his very actions prove it! I bring this up, because I believe excuses hold many of us back from chasing after the things that truly inspire us! And if we don’t chase those things now, it is very likely we never will!

I believe sometimes we think we lack the skills or the resources to chase these dreams but often it’s a lack of courage. This may be a business opportunity, a passion, a life altering decision that you keep putting off. If you don’t chase these passions, someone else will.

Not everyone may be meant to run a business or non profit but every single one of us have a calling and passions.

I love what Gary Vee has to say about this…

``...if you ever get the chance to visit a retirement home and strike up conversations with these people, you’ll often hear about regret.``

Now, I don’t know this for fact, because I have never personally done this. But I do know one thing, I do not want to be at the end of my life having never fulfilled my dreams and passions. I don’t want to be left with regret!

I have always felt that God had big plans for my life. I don’t know if it is this business or something else, but I never wanna turn down the opportunities He places before me. I believe He places this calling on a lot of people’s life. It really isn’t His responsibility to fulfill it, it is our DUTY to respond to it! This is where change happens, when His people step into their calling.
